Does it feel like your body is saying "no"?
If so, let's help it say YES again! It's important to take a trauma-informed, compassionate approach to chronic illness and pain. Here's how we can support your healing:
* Identify Emotional Stressors: Let's gently uncover how unresolved stress and past hurts may be impacting your physical health. Chronic conditions often develop in the presence of long-term suppressed emotions, internal and external pressures, or personal grief. By addressing these root causes, we open the door to meaningful, lasting change.
* Heal and Strengthen Your Nervous System: A regulated nervous system is required in order to heal. Together, we'll explore specific strategies and tools to move your brain, body and nervous system out of fight/flight/freeze and into healing clarity and peace.
* Rewire your Brain and Body's Response: Through a mix of body-based techniques, Pain Reprocessing Therapy and Neuroscience, you'll be guided toward new patterns that help your brain and body release its hold on illness and pain. These methods are a great support for brain-based therapies and talk therapy!
Healing doesn't happen by pushing harder. It begins when we understand and respond to the signals your brain and body are sending in order to RELEASE chronic illness and pain.
Is this part of your story?
These, and more, could be at play...
- Have been told your nervous system is in fight/flight but are unsure of what to do about it.
- A history of childhood trauma or you felt you needed to "walk on eggshells" at home.
- Known as the one who "has it all together"; helps others while needing little help for yourself.
- Prone to personality traits of: self-criticism, putting pressure on yourself, worry/anxiety/hypervigilance, perfectionism, avoids upsetting others, people pleasing.
- Illness originated during or just after a stressful time of life and it feels like your "stress bucket" filled up and spilled over.
Does this mean what you're experiencing is "all in your head?" Absolutely not.
Chronic illness and pain can often result from a combination of physical, emotional and nervous system imbalances, not simply from thoughts or emotions. Your body is responding to genuine stressors, and healing may require all aspects to restore balance and well-being. I know healing is possible because I've been there too.
